850 Delhi students to paticipate in 2008 Republic Day parade

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) As many as 850 students, drawn from 25 government, government-aided and private schools of the capital, will participate in this year's Republic Day parade and present lively musical and cultural items.

The cultural pageant will be headed by a band playing 'Surya.' Kamal Model Senior Secondary School, Mohan Garden and Vandana International Senior Secondary School, Dwarka will jointly present 'Tiranga Sakshi Hai' a musical presentation showcasing how the national flag witnessed each and every moment of hardship and sacrifice made by the freedom fighters.

Among other highlights will be Gaurav by Zone-2 schools portraying the contribution of Indian women in national unity and harmony, Jai Bharat by Government Senior Secondary School, Padam Nagar will present how freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom.
