5 injured and looted at Shyamnagar farmhouse

Barrackpore, Jan 14 (UNI) At least five people were wounded when armed miscreants allegedly looted money and ornaments from a business man, accompanied by a few women, at Shyamnagar in North 24 Parganas yesterday.

Police said the miscreants had also damaged a few cars and two motorbikes, belonging to the visitors. An FIR had been lodged with the Jagaddal police station by the owner of the Farmhouse Dipankar Ghosh.

Mr Ghosh alleged that a gang of 30 youths, from Rahuta Bangladeshi Refugee settlers colony, invaded the garden farmhouse last evening, when most police and administrative officials were busy with fire at the Tyre Corporation of India's factory near Kankinara.

No one was, however, arrested so far, police said.
