UP Guv, CM greet on Makar Sankranti, Pongal

Lucknow, Jan 13 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar and Chief Minister Mayawati today extended greetings to the people of the state on Makar Sankranti, Pongal and Lohri, wishing them a happy and prosperous life.

In a message, the Governor said ''The festivals are a symbol of prosperity. They inspire and popularise the ideals of national unity and cohesion.'' The CM observed that ''these festivals bind us in fraternal love and affection. They reflect the country's glorious cultural traditions and promote the values of sharing and generosity.'' She urged the people to celebrate the festivals peacefully.
