Pregnant woman commits suicide in AP village

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 13: Unable to bear sexual overtures from her neighbour, a 19-year-old pregnant woman committed suicide by hanging in her parent's house at Vempenta village in this district, today.

Police said Rajalaxmi had come to her parent's house yesterday to celebrate Sankaranti festival. Her neighbour Krishna, who had been harassing her with sexual advances since she got married last year, abused her this morning. Hurt by the comments, Rajalaxmi took the extreme step.

The accused was absconding.
