Over 300 cases settled in Lok Adalats in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jan 13: Special Lok Adalats for MACT cases were held today at Hissar, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Jind, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Narnaul and Rewari Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) disclosed that in these Special Lok Adalats, 143 cases of MACT were settled. These cases pertained to death/injury arising out of vehicular accidents wherein an amount of Rs 1,47,55,800 was awarded as compensation.

In addition, 116 cases were also settled pertaining to civil, criminal, summary and under 138 Negotiable Instrumental Act.

He has further disclosed that Rural Lok Adalats were also held at village Chikkan (Panchkula), Kalram (Kaithal) and Agondh (Kaithal). In these Rural Lok Adalats 207 cases were taken up out of which 111 cases of civil, petty criminal, mutation were settled.
