Centre "soft" to terrorists: Yashwant

Bokaro, Jan 13 (UNI) Hitting out at the UPA government at the Centre of adopting "lackadaisical" attitude against terrorists, BJP national vice-president Yashwant Sinha today charged the government with developing ''soft corner'' against them.

Talking to reporters after a party meeting here, Mr Sinha said the Centre was yet to make any concrete policy against terrorism after abolishing the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA), passed by the previous NDA government.

Criticising the Centre for abolishing the law, Mr Sinha said the terrorists from bordering countries entered India due to lack of any ''forceful'' law against them.

Mr Sinha said the recent statement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue reflected ''gullible nature'' of the government against the terrorists.

Mr Singh in a statement during his foreign visit said the situation of India was similar to that of Pakistan as the former was also facing threat from the terorists.

'' The Union government has also released a few ULFA militants, who were nabbed during the NDA regime, '' Mr Sinha said adding these incidents emboldened the morale of law-breakers.
