'Astadhatu' idols worth Rs 10 cr seized, 3 held
Gorakhpur, Jan 13 (UNI) Two ancient 'ashtadhatu' idols of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, estimated at Rs 10 crore in the international market, have been recovered and three persons arrested in this regard in the Sehjanva area here today.
Gorakhpur Superintendent of Police (Rural) S P Upadhyay said three motorcycle borne persons were stopped during vehicle checking on account of suspicion.
However, when the trio tried to fled away, they were nabbed and the estimated 10 crore idols were recovered from the three persons.
The idols weigh 10 kg each and dates back to about 300 yrs.
Meanwhile, the winning team has been awarded with Rs 2,500.
