Kochi, Jan 12: Claiming that Chinese intrusions into Indian territory had increased during the past three years of UPA rule, the BJP today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take a strong stand on this issue during his three-day visit to China. Addressing a press conference here, BJP President Rajnath Singh said the Prime Minister's China visit is taking place in the backdrop of country repeatedly staking its claim to parts of Indian territory, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh.

Mr Singh said the Prime Minister should take the issue of intrusion into Indian territory with the Chinese Government during his visit. ''He must reiterate that India will not accept any compromise on this issue,'' the BJP chief added. Dr Singh will leave for Beijing tonight for the visit which is expected to focus on early resolution of the vexed border dispute and further intensification of economic ties between the two Asian heavyweights.
