PM must take strong stand against Chinese intrusions: BJP
Kochi, Jan 12 (UNI) Claiming that Chinese intrusions into Indian territory had increased during the past three years of the UPA rule, the BJP today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take a strong stand on this issue during his three-day visit to China.
Addressing a press conference here, BJP President Rajnath Singh said that the Prime Minister's China visit is taking place in the backdrop of China repeatedly staking its claim to parts of Indian territory, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh.
Claiming that Chinese intrusions into Indian territory had increased during the past three years, Mr Rajnath Singh said the prime minister should take this up with the Chinese Government during his visit.
''He must reiterate that India will not accept any compromise on this issue,'' the BJP chief added.
Dr Manmohan Singh is leaving for Beijing tonight for the visit, which is expected to focus on early resolution of the vexed border dispute and further intensification of economic ties between the two Asian heavyweights.
