YSR directs officials achieve revenue targets

Hyderabad, Jan 11: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials of Stamps and Registration Department to achieve the target for revenue collection well before the financial year closing.

Reviewing revenue mobilisation by different departments with the officials concerned, Dr Reddy said there was a shortfall of ten per cent in overall revenue collections from various revenue earning departments in 2007-08.

Major shortfall was from the stamps and registration because of the slump in registrations in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy Districts.

The Registration Department urged the Chief Minister to instruct all land auctioning agencies like HUDA and APIIC to complete the registration process of properties sold wherein all formalities were completed.

The department also urged the government to revise the basic value of land in various places to a realistic rate since there were anomalies in certain areas, an official release said here.
