TNTJ protests Modi's visit to Chennai
Tiruchirapalli, Jan 11 (UNI) Hundreds of activists of the Tamil Nadu Towheed Jamath (TNTJ) today courted arrest by staging a demonstration, defying prohibitory orders in the city.
In a statement here, TNTJ State Secretary Mohamed Muneer said the demonstration was to protest against the proposed visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Chennai on January 14.
They also condemned AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa for hosting a dinner for Mr Modi.
Similar demonstrations were also staged across the state, he said in the statment.
