Govt to order fair inquiries into corruption cases: H P Guv
Dharamshala, Jan 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje today spelt out the newly elected BJP government's commitment to root out corruption at every step and said the government will order impartial inquiries and investigations into all cases of corruption.
In his address to the state Assembly, the Governor said the government would work without prejudices and pre-conceived considerations. But under no circumstances, a guilty would be allowed to go scot-free and the government will take effective and appropriate actions against them, whereas the innocent would not be touched'', he said.
He said the government was committed to formation of a society, which was clean, fearless, free of corruption and atrocities at all levels.
Mr Kokje said the government would take effective steps for immediate redressal of problems and grievances of the people. He said officers of all departments would be duty bound to hear the problems of people and dispose them off at village level by organizing Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar .
He said Grievances Redressal Cells would also be set up at lower levels in each department so that the poor people of rural areas will not have to go to the state and district headquarters for the purpose.
The Governor said the government will promote religious tourism in the state, but at the same time ensure that the repair, maintenance and renovation of temples are done strictly in accordance with the divine traditions and faith of the people. He said the government will not exercise unnecessary interference in this regard.
The orders of taking over of the temples by the previous government on political considerations ignoring religious sentiments of the people would be cancelled'', he said.
Mr Kokje said the government will make efforts and work on two points to provide employment in the private sector, including industrial units, hydel power projects, cement plants, tourism etc.
The unemployed youth would be provided professional training and job-oriented programmes, through vocational and technical training institutions, he said. He added that the government would form a concrete plan for generating employment opportunities for youth and women relevant to their qualifications and professional skills.
Refering to the industrial package for industrial development of the state which has been limited upto 2010, the Governor said the government will strongly take up the matter with the Union government to extend it till 2013.
