Centre sanctions Rs 1.61 cr for bridge in TN

Chennai, Jan 11 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned Rs 1.61 crore for constructing an elevated bridge across a canal at Aruppukottai village in Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency of Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu.

Giving this information in a statement here, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, representing Sivaganga constituency, said the Union Highways Ministry had issued an order to this effect.

In a statement here, he thanked his Ministerial colleague, Highways Minister T R Baalu, for according sanction to the project.
