BJP launches agitation against Rly

Bhopal, Jan 11: The ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh has launched a phased agitation at Jabalpur and Ujjain against the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for allegedly neglecting the railway facilities in the state.

Jabalpur's BJP MP Rakesh Singh launched 'Halla Bol' 'Padyatra' agitation in his constituency on January 6 for delaying guage conversion of Jabalpur-Gondia section and neglecting other facilities in the area. The 'Padyatra' will conclude here this evening with a public rally at Malaviya Chowk. The protestors are also scheduled to gherao the railway zonal office.

At Ujjain, BJP workers staged demonstration in front of the railway station today demanding introduction of weekly Indore-Amritsar Expres from January 15 via Ujjain. Earlier, the train was proposed to be introduced from Ujjain but its route was changed via Dewas-Maksi, according to BJP spokesperson Virendra Kothari.

BJP MP and former Union Minister S N Jatia also addressed the demonstrators.
