BJP indulged in false promises: Kharge
Belgaum, Jan 11(UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Mallikarjuna Kharge has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Karnataka were indulged in making false poll promises to win forthcoming elections in Karnataka.
Speaking at party's 'Janandholana' campaign here today KPCC president Mallikarjuna Kharge charged that BJP in a bid to come to power making false promises which can not be implemented.
Stating that BJP when in power has failed to implement any promises it had made during the last elections after it came to power was now adopting same tactics with an eye to win the coming assembly elections. "The people of the state have seen the real colour of BJP and will teach them a bitter lessons at the hustings" he said.
Accusing that BJP leaders during 20-month in office were involving amassing wealth and were responsible for various scams and very much active in mudslinging on their-own coalition partners.
Mr Kharge also alleged that BJP had managed to win more number of seats in the urban local bodies elections with the support of ill-gotten wealth amassed while in office.
Denying that BJP has public sympathy Mr Kharge expressed confidence that Congress will come back to power on its own strength after the elections. Party senior leaders including former deputy chief minister Sidharamaiah, former union minister C M Ibrahim, R V Deshapande and others also spoke on the occasion.
