AP Governor to inaugurate 'Girijana Utsav'

Hyderabad, Jan 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari will inaugurate ''Girijana Utsav'' here tomorrow.

The nine-day Utsav will showcase the traditional arts, crafts and dances of various tribal groups in different parts of the state.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would participate in the closing ceremony of the Utsav on January 20, which would comprise folk dances of Savaras, Lamabadas, Chenchus, Khonds, Koyas and Gonds, Tribal Welfare Secretary V Nagi Reddy told reporters at the ethnic village Shilparamam on the city outskirts.

An expo would be organised to highlight their rich cultural heritage, including paintings and festivals, he added.
