Andaman contingent to participate in National Youth Festival
Port Blair, Jan 10 (UNI) The Andaman and Nicobar administration has deputed a contingent of 37 members to participate in the 13th National Youth Festival, scheduled to be held at the Jawharlal Nehru Stadium at Chennai from January 12-16.
Official sources said here today that the Sports, Art and Culture department had appointed the members, comprising youth volunteers, to participate in the festival.
''The Andaman and Nicobar Islands youth contingent will perform in the cultural activities and non-competitive programmes in the festival,'' the officials said.
The contingent, led by youth volunteer of a remote South Andaman village A Majeed, had already left for Chennai on January seven, the officials added.
