BB Mohanty surrenders in Court

Jaipur, Jan 10 (UNI) Suspended Orissa cadre senior IPS officer B B Mohanty, evading arrest in the parole jumping case of his son Bitti Mohanty who is convicted in the rape of a German woman, surrendered in an ACJM court here today. B B Mohanty had given surety for the parole of his son from the Jaipur Central Jail.

Lal Kothi SHO Sugand Chand Panwar said B B Mohanty surrendered in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajendra Bansal. Earlier Mohanty had challenged the non-bailable warrant issued against him by the ACJM court in Rajasthan in the Supreme court.

But the apex court refused to entertain his petition and asked him to surrender in the court in Rajasthan as a condition for hearing his bail plea. Mohanty had then sought two weeks time for his surrender.
