5 soldiers buried under snow in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 10: Five soldiers and six labourers working with the Army were buried under a huge snow avalanche in north Kashmir last evening, a defence spokesman said today. He said a massive rescue operation had been launched to trace them.

The spokesman said five soldiers and eight labourers were buried under the huge snow avalanche in Uri sector. While two labourers were rescued, search for others was underway. About four to six feet of snowfall was experienced during the last three days.
