Youth gets life term for murder of uncle

Fatehgarh Sahib, Jan 9 (UNI) A local court sentenced a youth to life imprisonment, holding him guilty of murdering his uncle.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge sentenced life term to 20 year old Supinder Singh, a resident of Mehmadpur, who killed his uncle Malkit Singh around two-and-half-years ago with sharp-edged weapons.

The court also directed him to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 or face imprisonment of one more year.

Malkit Singh's brother Baldev Singh, who is cashier in Bassi Pathana branch of State Bank of Patiala lodged his complaint with Bassi Pathana police on July 8, 2005 that his wife telephoned him that Malkit Singh had gone to water the fields and Supinder Singh is quarrelling with him.

When Baldev Singh reached there he saw Supinder attacking Malkit Singh with sharp- edged weapon and Malkit falling on ground.
