IIM-Calcutta wins Tata Business leadership competition
Mumbai, Jan 9 (UNI) The team from IIM-Calcutta and Tata Chemicals have emerged winners in the seventh Tata Business Leadership Awards (TBLA).
In the Campus Round, IIM-Calcutta beat teams from SP Jain, Mumbai and IIM-Bangalore who took the first and second runners-up prizes.
Meanwhile in the Internal Track catagory for in-house teams, Tata Chemicals team saw off challenges from first runners-up HV Transmission and TCS-USA were the second runners up, a statement said.
Tata Sons Chairman Ratan Tata gave away the prizes, which comprised of a trophy and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, to the winners.
The Tata Business Leadership Awards has been conducted for students from the country's top seven business schools for the past six years. This year, TBLA was also extended to the employees of the Tata group companies. Over 239 teams registered for the Campus Round, while 9 teams were selected out of 225 entries in the in-house Internal Track catagory, the release added.
