3 cr worth diamond armour to Lord Hanuman
Udupi, Jan 9 (UNI) A diamond armour (Vajra Kavach), worth Rs three crore, will be dedicated to Lord Mukhyaprana (Hanuman) at the famous Sri Krishna temple here on January 11.
Briefing reporters here today, Sri Vidyasagara Thirtha Swamiji of the Paryaya Krishnapura Mutt, who would lead the dedication rites, said 6.7 kg of gold and 5,287 diamonds were used for prepairing the sacred armour.
The Vajra Kavach, brought in a 'Shobhayatra' (religious procession) tomorrow from Jodukatte, would be initially, dedicated to the presiding deity-- Lord Sri Krishn, and later dedicated to Lord Mukhyaprana.
Meanwhile, the annual 'Sapthotsav' (seven day chariot festival) began at the temple today.
