Mizoram: Youth killed for 50 rupees

Aizawl, Jan 8: A 22-year-old youth in Champhai was stabbed to death on the night of January 4 all because the killer had borrowed fifty rupees from his father that day,Champhai police said today.

According to sources from Champhai police, C Lalrintluanga borrowed Rs 50 from Lalpekthanga while gambling. Later in the evening, Lalpekthanga asked Lalrintluanga to repay him. This ended in a fight where Lalpekthanga received a few punches.

Then, in the night when Lalpekthanga's son went to Lalrintluanga's house to inquire about what happened in the day, Lalrintluanga stabbed him thinking that the youth was going to take revenge for his father.The youth died at the spot.

The accused was arrested and sent to jail today.
