USIBA proposes to establish American Technology Park in Haryana

New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) A 16-member delegation of US-India Business Alliance (USIBA) has met Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and forwarded a proposal to establish an American Technology Park in Haryana.

During discussions here last evening, the Chief Minister disclosed that the state government has planned to develop an Industrial Model Township near Rohtak and a Global Corridor along the 135-kms-long Kundli-Maneshar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in National Capital Region of Haryana.

Besides, the state government has been making concerted efforts to provide best possible road and rail connectivity in the region, he said.

Mr Hooda claimed that with the highest per capita income in the country and adoption of new industrial policy, Haryana has become the first choice of investors in India which was evident from the fact that the capital investment in the state during last two and a half year rule of the present government had crossed over to Rs 28,000 crore and around 70 per cent of capital investment in the State had been for setting up of industries particularly small and medium ones.

''Haryana has also emerged as the first choice of the companies to set up Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and a seperate policy on setting up SEZ has been formulated to facilitate public and private sector investment,'' he said and added that the state government also has planned to develop nine different cities like film city, fashion city, dry port, entertainment city in different parts of the State.

The delegates recalled that USIBA prepared its plans to establish an American Technology Park in Haryana after a meeting with the Chief Minister during his visit in USA last year.

Earlier, a delegation of Darvesh Group led by Talib Hassan Darvesh also met the Chief Minister for investing in real estate and sharing of latest technology in Safety and Security of the buildings.

Mr M L Tayal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr S S Dhillon, Commissioner and Special Secretary, Town and Country Planning and Urban Estate and Mr P K Mahapatra, Resident Commissioner of Haryana Government in Delhi were also present in the meeting.
