NDTV Convergence to organise 'India Financial Summit'08'

Mumbai, Jan 8 (UNI) NDTV Convergence Ltd, India's leading web 2.0 company that operates the business and financial news website 'NDTVProfit.com', has organised 'The India Financial Summit 2008' tomorrow.

The first round of the summit will be held at Taj President here and it will be followed by Bangalore on January 11.

A release here today said the summit would provide a unique opportunity to get first hand insight on the Indian financial markets from regulators and top bankers. It would highlight the growth and the way forward for the Indian financial sector and the steps required to meet the challenges of evolving global financial markets.

The summit will focus on the role of regulators in protecting the interests of retail investors from the repercussions of any major international financial crisis and the current trends within the Indian and international markets, and their impact on the corporate and investor community as well as the changing face of banking and financial services industry respectively.

The sessions would also delve into the crucial role technology had played in the Indian financial and banking sectors as well as the ways to tackle the various Internet frauds, the release said.

Explaining the concept behind the summit, NDTV Convergence Ltd chief executive officer Sanjay Trehan said ''As the Indian economy integrates with global markets, there is a need to address challenges for the regulatory authorities.
