National seminar on bridge engineering from Jan 11
Mumbai, Jan 8 (UNI) A three-day conference of bridge engineers from India and abroad will be held here from January 11.
The conference, which is being organised by the Indian Institution of Bridge Engineers (IIBE), will discuss the importance of bridges in infrastructure, Institution Director General M C Bhide told reporters here last evening.
According to Bhide, the seminar has been organised to highlight the role of bridges in the infrastructure development in the country, and also to study and review various problems that the bridge engineers face while carrying out bridge construction.
''The seminar will also put out solutuions to such problem in different perspectives,'' he added.
Experts from Sweden, Germany, Malaysia and other country's are likely to attend the three-day event. About 400 enginners from both the private sector and the government and semi-government organisations from across the country will attend the national seminar.
