Mumbai-Howrah train traffic disrupts after derailment of goods train
Nagpur, Jan 8 (UNI) Train traffic on the Mumbai-Howrah route was disrupted today duje to the derailment of a goods train between Darekasa and Bortalao stations of South-East Central Railway (SECR) last night.
Some trains had been delayed while others were being operated along diverted routes, according to a Central Railway (CR) press release here.
The 8238 Amritsar-Bilaspur Chhattisgarh Express was terminated at Nagpur today and will be operated as the 8237 Chhattisgarh Express from Nagpur tonight. The 2410 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Bilaspur Gondwana Express had been diverted along Itarsi-Jabalpur-Katni-Bilaspur. The passengers booked on this train were accommodated on 6094 Lucknow-Chennai Express, the press release said.
The 2856 Nagpur-Raipur Express and the 376 Nagpur-Raipur passenger were terminated at Gondia, and would be operated as 2855 express and 375 passenger, respectively, back to Nagpur. The 2101 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Howrah, 2129 Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express, 2809 Mumbai-Howrah Mail and 2844 Ahmedabad-Puri Express, leaving their originating stations today, will run from Nagpur along diverted route via Itarsi-Bina-Katni-Bilaspur.
The 2860 Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express, 8030 Shalimar-LTT Express, 2810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail, 2130 Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express, 2102 Howrah-LTT Express and 2834 Howrah-Ahmedabad Express, departing from their originating stations today, will run along the diverted route via Bilaspur-Katni-Bina-Bhopal-Itarsi-Bhusaval.
Consequently, these trains will not touch Nagpur, the press release added.
