Karnataka MPs urge Railways to offer due weightage to locals
New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) Two Karnataka MPs have protested against the neglect of Kannadiga candidates for 'Group D' category of recruitments and urged Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to review the decision to reject local candidates in the physical examination conducted two days ago.
The MPs including former Union Railways Minister Mr Basanagouda Patil Yetnal of the BJP and Mr M Shivanna of the J D (S) in their separate letters alleged about the nepotism by the selection authorities wqherein candidates from Bihar, the home state of Mr Yadav were preferred over Kannadigas leading to large scale protests all over the state. The two urged the Railway Minister to start afresh the selection process, giving due weightage to the local candidates for these lower posts where they should have priority over candidates from other places.
