HC to decide on CBI summon on Lalu in fodder case on Jan 14

Ranchi, Jan 8 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today reserved its order in connection with the summon issued on Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and three others, including former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, regarding the multi-crore fodder scam case RC 39A/96 of Dumka treasury by the special court CBI Ranchi.

Others involved in the case were former animal husbandry officer Dr KM Prasad and politicians--Vidya Sagar Nishad and Dr Rabindra Kumar Rana.

The court observed that it could issue summons on the persons concerned against whom evidence was deposed.

The next date for order of the case was fixed on January 14.

The lawyers appearing on behalf of Mr Yadav and others contended before the court that it was illegal.

Earlier, CBI special judge Sanjay Prasad had issued summons on the four as to why they should not be made party in RC 39A/96 of Dumka treasury.

Countering the order passed by the CBI Judge they had filed a writ petition before the court. After hearing the matter the court later directed the CBI not to take any coercive steps against them.
