First National Art Camp to focus on Orissan culture
Bhubaneswar, Jan 08 (UNI) National and International repute artists from across the country will be seen in action in the five-day National Art Camp cum Seminar beginning here from tomorrow.
Organised by the Orissa Lalitkala Academy in collaboration with the state Culture Department and the Centre for Youth and Social Development(CYSD),the camp will mainly focus on the spread of the unique culture and heritage of Orissa in the national and international spheres.
Briefing newspersons, Orissa Culture Minister S N Patra said reputed 38 artists including Jatin Das, V S Rahi, Dr.Sabita Nag, O P Sharma and Dr Ram Viranjan would join the camp and create their paintings.
He said the camp would provide immense opportunities to the Orissa artists who have received Dharmapada award to be more familiar with the international repute artists so that they too would be exposed in the national field.
Mr Patra said all the works of the artists in the camp would be kept for public display and sale for a week after the camp and collection from the proceedings would be used for various developmental programme of the Lalitkala Academy.
The Culture Minister said henceforth the national camp would be a regular annual event and next year noted artist M F Hussein would be invited to grace the occasion.
