Pondy: CITU volunteers obstruct road

Puducherry, Jan 8: As many as 41 CITU volunteers, including six women were arrested when they resorted to a road blockade at Ariyankuppam near here today to press their demands.

The volunteers sought immediate reinstatment of 54 workers of a private industry here and action against the unit for terminating them.

They also demanded immediate convening of the Contract Labourers Consulation Board.
