No increase in retail prices of food commodities last week
New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Retail prices of farm commodities generally remained steady or displayed a mixed trend over the week ending December 31, 2007.
The Department of Consumer Affairs informed that during the week ending December 31, 2007, prices of wheat and sugar at retail level remained steady at all the monitoring centres.
Prices of gram dal remained stready across all the monitoring centres and declined at Bhubaneshwar.
Prices of tur dal remained steady in all locations, and declined at Chennai.
At Delhi, prices of food commodities (per kg) showed the following trend in the week ending December 31.
Mustard oil and onion remained steady at Rs 66 and Rs 10 per kg respectively remained steady for a week.
Prices of Rice (Rs 16), Wheat (Rs 12), Atta (Rs 13), Gram (Rs 36), Tur (Rs 42) Groundnut oil (Rs 121), Vanaspati (Rs 62), Tea (Rs 109), Potato (Rs 9), Milk (Rs 20) and Salt (Rs 10) remained steady for a month while prices of sugar at Rs 17 per kg also sremained steady for six months.
Out of 1.29 MT pulses contacted for import, 0.91 MT have arrived in the country by December 18, 2007, an official release said today.
