LJP demands PM intervention for repeal of LG's ID card order
New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Lok Janshakti Party President and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today demanded repeal of the Delhi Lt.
Governor Tajinder Khanna's order regarding ID card and validation of driving licenses and sought intervention of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard.
The LJP held an emergency meeting here to discuss the matter and felt that such a decision would impede the fundamental right to freedom of movement and will result in the harassment of the common man, particularly the poor people coming from the Eastern parts of the country, especially Bihar.
Mr Paswan said it would threaten the basic structure of the Constitution.
The meeting was attended by LJP Vice President Ranjan Prasad Yadav, MP Ramchander Paswan and Dalit Sena President S N Singh.
