Training
Institute,
the

in

officials
of
Southern
States.
In his address, Mr Balakrishnan said there was a need to bring in professionalism in the intelligence wing of the Police Department.
Calling for a drastic change in the intelligence wing, the Minister hoped the Institute would help impart the most modern training to officials who could assist the state in tackling crimes and even terrorist activities.
''We cannot root out terrorism with weapons alone. Terrorism is based on some principle and once these principles are eradicated, we will be successful,'' he said.
The Intelligence Bureau should become professional to eradicate such anti-national principles.
The police force of various states should cooperate with each other as crimes, including terrorism, had crossed borders.
''A terrorist striking somewhere in Andhra Pradesh will not stay in the state after the crime. He will escape to other states,'' he said.
