EGoM to meet on Jan 17 to discuss petrol and diesel price

Mumbai, Jan 7 (UNI) The Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), headed by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, will meet in New Delhi on January 17 to discuss the possible fuel hike following steep rise in crude prices in the International market.

The impact of the steep rise in crude prices, which touched 100 dollar per barrel, and strategies to tide over the situation, will come up for discussion, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told reporters here today.

Mr Deora said he was unable to comment on the possibilities of a price hike as it would be discussed at the meeting.
