Arunachal inks MOAs for 42 projects in three years
Itanagar, Jan 07 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh has signed 42 MoAs with various power developers in the past three years for executing hydro power projects of 23, 591 MW in the state.
Official sources here today said that of the total projects, 14 were located at West Kameng district with total installed capacity of 2,370 MW, eight in West Siang (3,504 MW), six in East Kameng (927 MW), five in Tawang (1,790 MW), two each in Dibang Valley (4,500 MW), Anjaw (2,700 MW) and Papum Pare (200 MW), while one each in Lower Dibang Valley (3,000 MW), East Siang (1,600 MW) and Lohit (3,000 MW).
The National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) had signed MoAs for three with capacity of 4,500 MW, while North East Electrical Power Company (NEEPCO) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) have signed for two projects each with capacity of 1,230 MW and 4,500 MW respectively.
Altogether 14 private power developers signed MoAs with the state government in the past three years for 35 projects of 13,361 MW.
Dubai based Vilcon Energy Ltd had signed MoAs for four projects, while KSK Energy Ventures Ltd, Hyderabad, signed for eight projects, followed by four projects of Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd, New Delhi, three each by Noida based Bhilwara Energy Ltd and Delhi based Mountain Fall India Pvt Ltd, two each by J P Associates, New Delhi, Reliance Energy Ltd Mumbai, Patel Engineering Pvt Ltd Mumbai and ECI Engineering and Construction Company Hyderabad.
The state government also identified another 115 numbers of hydro projects in the state with total potential of 56,151 mega watts, sources disclosed.
The state government during the period had received an amount of Rs 158.64 crore from various power developers as processing and upfront premium, officials added.
