Happy reunion for youth after seven years in AP
Kakinada, Jan 6 (UNI) A 13-year-old boy, hailing from Jharkhand, missing for the last seven years, could re-join his family today, following the steps initiated by the Child Line Project and East Godavari District administration of Andhra Pradesh .
Police said Narendra Santosh Kumar was handed over to the Child Line authorities on January 15, 2007, while he was found loitering on the railway platform with other rag pickers. The boy was, however, admitted in a school by the authorities, since he could not recollect his parents whereabouts.
On December 26, the District Collector M Subrahmanyam, sent him to Jharkhand to the address given by him with the project team headed by Director G Satyanarayana.
The boy was restored to his grand-father and relatives in Bandhbad village, since his father Ramprasad Rana and Mother Dulhari Devi were out of station, in search of their livelihood, police added.
