Girl shot dead at Vishwa Bharati University campus

Bolepur, Jan 6: An unidentified youth today shot dead a third year female student of the Bachelor of Music course at the Vishwa Bharati University (VBU) campus here and later committed suicide.

Police said the youth shot Saswati Pal, who was lodged at the VBU Ananda Sadan Girls Hostel, before shooting himself with the same pistol.

The duo were rushed to the Bolepur Sub-Divisional Hospital where they were declared dead, police said, adding that investigation was on in the matter.
