Gang of robbers busted; Gutkha worth lakhs, vehicles seized
New Delhi, Jan 6 (UNI) The Delhi Police today claimed to have solved a case of truck jacking with goods worth Rs 32 lakh by gangsters from Western Uttar Pradesh and seized stolen items of Rs 26 lakh from them.
A police spokesperson said the East District police busted a gang of robbers and arrested Mukesh, Saurabh Thakur alias Shaitan Singh and Bhima (all residents of Uttar Pradesh).
With the arrest, he said a case of Kalyanpuri police station had been solved and 'Dilbagh Gutkha' worth more than Rs 21 lakh seized from them.
The gangsters had taken away a truckload of 'Dilbagh Gutkha' worth Rs 27 lakh on the night of December 23 last year.
The stolen TATA-407 vehicle, an Indica car and Rs 16,000 in cash were also recovered from them, the spokesperson added.
