Extensive pulse polio carried out in Bangalore, Mysore dsts

Bangalore, Jan 6 (UNI) In the wake of a polio case being unearthed last month in the city, Health and civic authorities with the help of Scouts and Guides today conducted an extensive round of pulse polio immunisation programme in Bangalore and Mysore districts.

Children below five years were administered vaccene in over 2000 booths almost all the hospitals and health centres in the city with over 900 volunteers, while door to door campaign was also taken up today.

A case of polio to a child migrated from Bihar was unearthed in Yeswantpur area of the city last month.

A repeat round of vaccination would be held on February 10.
