Smart Card Scheme to tackle traffic offences online

Jaipur, Jan 5 (UNI) Traffic offenders beware! Under a new Smart Card scheme soon to be launched in the state a computerised system will replace the present manual system of recording offences and will be accessible online all over the state.

Regional Transport officer V P Singh said the project will be launched in the state by the end of this year. He said according to the system the registration and license of the vehicles will be computerised on a district basis and will be connected to a central server at Jaipur.

He said the traffic offences of the vehcile owners will be recordedalong with the registration of the vehicle and license of the owner.

Mr Singh said under the present system even when a license was cancelled on serious offecnes in one district the offenders manage to make a license in another district due to lack of online access to information. He said the new computerised system will help in management of traffic offences easily.

Mr Singh said the tender for the project had been mooted and it will be in place by the end of this year.
