Sugar prices rise due to lesser stock supply
Navi Mumbai, Jan 4 (UNI) On the second consecutive day today, wholesale spot sugar prices inched up due to lesser stock supply, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Prices of Sugar in small and medium grade shot up by Rs 6 and Rs 5 per quintal respectively, amid improved demands.
While sugar prices in ex-mill small and medium grade also rose by Rs 10 per quintal each, owing to fresh demand from retailers.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,350/1,391, Medium grade: Rs 1,416/1,511.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,350/1,380 and Medium grade: Rs 1,410/1,480.
