Rupee opens firm at 39.31/32 per dollar

Mumbai, Jan 4: Rupee strenthen more than ten paise against US Dollar at 39.31/32 from its previous close of 39.40/41 per dollar on strong sentiments in Indian equity market today. The partially convertible Indian unit climbed up smartly against Dollar with sentiment up-beat as traders interpreted comments from the Central Bank Governor as a signal authorities may tolerate some further currency appreciation, delears said.
