Rodrigues extends greetings on eve of Gurupurab

Chandigarh, Jan 4 (UNI) Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gen (Retd) S F Rodrigues has extended his greetings on the Parkash Utsav of tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

In his message on the eve of this auspicious occasion, the Governor said that "Sant Sipahi" Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a noble and pious soul whose sacrifice for preserving human and secular values is unique.

"His un-paralleled heroism, administrative skills, literary pursuits, military prowess and his boundless love for humanity has inspired Sikhs for generations." General Rodrigues said that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji raised the 'Order of Khalsa' for fighting evil forces and worked hard for the creation of a society based on goodwill, mutual trust and brotherhood.

General Rodrigues further said that Guru Ji's teaching and philosophy is relevant for all time and especially today in this complex and materialistic world.

He called upon the people to follow the high ideals and tenets of the great Guru and to re-dedicate ourselves to the service of the nation and of mankind.
