NSS cadres could play vital role in checking naxalism: Tirkey

Dumka, Jan 4 (UNI) Jharkhand Youth, Sports, Art&Culture Minister Bandhu Tirkey today said youths associated with National Service Scheme (NSS) could play a vital role in checking Naxalism in the state.

Addressing the 'National Unity Camp' organised here, Mr Tirkey said NSS cadres had a wide reach in rural areas and could play an important role in checking naxalism which had become a menace in the state.

Urging the youths to come forward and fight against the 'social evil', Mr Tirkey said the government would convene a meeting of all the coordinators for the expansion of NSS soon.
