Mah women's commission takes serious note of Juhu molestation case
Mumbai, Jan 4 (UNI) The Maharashtra Women Commission has taken serious note of the molestation of two women outside a five star hotel after a New Year celebration programme and asked the state government to ensure that the guilty were brought to book.
Commission chairperson Advocate Rajani Satav said, in a statement issued here today, she met state Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and submitted a memorandum demanding strict punishment for the accused.
She said the commission would pursue the case with police and the government and ensure that the guilty did not go scot free.
''It is shameful that such a horrific incident can happen in a progressive state like Maharashtra, which is marching towards modernisation in the 21st century. Men's attitude towards women has not changed,'' she added.
