Haryana revenue receipt at Rs 7872 crore in first half
Chandigarh, Jan 4 (UNI) Haryana Finance, Excise and Taxation Minister Birender Singh said that the revenue receipts of Haryana during the first half of the year 2007-08 were Rs 7872 crore as compared to Rs 7459 crore in the corresponding period of last year, that is higher by Rs 413 crore.
Mr Birender Singh said that these receipts included Rs 5654 crore of State Tax Revenue, Rs 1625 crore of Non Tax Revenue and balance of Rs 593 crore had been received from the Centre.
On the other hand, the capital expenditure on plan side during first half of the current financial year was Rs 1604 crore as compared to Rs. 693 crore during the same period in the last financial year, he added.
The Minister hoped that the revenue receipts would further go up in the second half of the year as compared to the revenue expenditure and the State would become revenue surplus by more than Rs 1000 crore.
He also expected that the capital expenditure to reach at the level of around Rs. 3500 crore as compared to capital expenditure of Rs. 2428 crore during the year 2006-07.
He further informed that the size of annual plan of the year 2007-08 of Rs 5300 crore would be exceeded by Rs. 200 to Rs. 250 crore while the plan size for next year 2008-09 is expected to be at a level of approximately Rs 6400 crore.
