Govt land deal: Rani to pay Rs 90 lk fine

New Delhi, Jan 3, 2008 : Ahmednagar"s SDM court has slammed a fine of Rs. 90 lakhs on actress Rani Mukherjee in connection with a government land dealing.

The Bollywood actress on January 3rd lost possession of the land she had purchased near Shirdi after the Maharashtra government declared the transaction as illegal and formally took over the land. With this Mukherjee's dream of owning a house in the temple town of Shirdi was dashed.
