Centre releases over Rs 3 cr to develop Hoshiarpur as tourist spot
New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) The Central government has released over Rs 3.18 crore, comprising 80 per cent of Rs 3.98 crore of Central assistance, for Punjab's Hoshiarpur district to develop it as a tourist destination.
The Union Tourism Ministry today said the money has been sanctioned to start work on the integrated development of Hoshiarpur in Doaba region.
The money will be spent on environmental upgradation of Bajawra fort and Sheeshmahal, CNI church, Kali temple, Mansa Devi, Gurdwara Garna Sahib, heritage trail and Dholbaha dam among others, the ministry added.
