AP to provide special incentives to SC, ST entrepreneurs
Hyderabad, Jan 4 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today approved special incentives for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) entrepreneurs.
Talking to newspersons here, after a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy said the SC/ST entrepreneurs would be provided 33.33 per cent rebate on land cost (limited to Rs five lakh), power at the rate of Rs one per unit for five years and 35 per cent investment subsidy on fixed capital investment (limited to Rs 50 lakh).
He said the Cabinet also decided to create an additional 6237 posts of Village Revenue Officer (VRO).
The Cabinet gave its approval for acquisition of 500 to 600 acres of land at a cost of Rs nine crore for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to be set up by the Centre in Medak district.
It also approved tabling the report of Justice P Ramakrishna Raju Commission, which went into the allocation of land to Raghuram Cement factory, in the Assembly.
He said the Commission had found that due procedure had been followed and there was no deviation of any rules in the deal.
The state government had fulfilled 1,808 of the 2,613 assurances relating to developmental works at the cost of Rs 7115.15 crore, he said adding that the cabinet had decided to mobilise required resources for completing the pending works in the next budget.
